For my 4th University Co-op placement I returned to Wind River's Infomation Development department (formerly Technical Publications). The plugin allows Wind River’s Education Services team to view critical statistics used in making cost and time projections for future development.• User-tested a python-based Wind River command-line tool and developed a report for product management.

Curtiss-Wright is a leader in rugged, and secure mission-critical solutions for defence and aerospace applications.• Integrated Static Analysis Testing into the Curtiss-Wright Linux BSP development lifecycle using DevOps best practices. • Designed a REST API to broker requests between Jenkins and Bitbucket• Performed manual testing on Curtiss-Wright ruggedized boards, running Wind River VxWorks

During my 3rd year at University, I had the opportunity to work part-time as a research assistant at C-CORE through Memorial's Undergraduate Career Experience Program (MUCEP). C-CORE provides ice engineering, geotechnical engineering, and remote sensing services. During this student job, I created an Access database for and helped catalog satellite images.

In January 2019 I returned to Wind River for my second work term as a Web Developer for Wind River's Technical Publications team. In this role, I developed a web portal for data tracked by Wind River's technical writers and editors. The website allowed the managers of the Technical Publications team to quickly view project statistics and download an Excel spreadsheet with project data. • Designed and implemented a full-stack web application, following agile development practices• Quickly ramped up with an Eclipse-based DITA tool to resolve a key customer-facing issue within a large documentation set for a major product release.

Wind River is a leader in embedded software and is the creator of the RTOS VxWorks.In this role, I assisted Wind River's Helix Device Cloud team in researching user onboarding best practices and with Wind River's Technical Publications team creating management applications. During this 8-month internship on many projects, some of which included:• Created a management tool in Python to transfer and parse data to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet• Worked in Angular to update and repair an internal website to provide the Technical Publications with product availability data.• Completed VxWorks lab testing, where I learned VxWorks and tested the usability of VxWorks tutorials.• Prototyped a VxWorks device weather simulator as a proof of concept for a Helix Device Cloud's new user onboarding process • Began work on an internal website, JIRA information management system, to provide JIRA statistics on a web dashboard. The website, which I continued work on in a later internship with Wind River, allowed the manager of the Techincal Publications group to better create cost estimates of future publications and releases.

WISE NL is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that seeks to increase the participation of young and adult women in rewarding and exciting careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.During 2017 I coordinated two Webinars for WISE NL. The webinars were held on May 17th and September 22nd and were in honour of Canada's Science Odyssey week and Science Literacy Week respectively. With the help of Memorial University's Marine Institue, WISE NL provided three schools, in out-port Newfoundland and Labrador, the chance to build Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). During the webinar, students assembled ROVs kits under the guidance of MUN's Eastern Edge robotics team and learned about underwater robotics.I learned so many things from this job, including skills in product management and public speaking. Some of my duties as the coordinator for these webinars included:• Planning and organizing event details • Liaising with Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) staff, and the Marine Institute• Recruiting rural Newfoundland and Labrador schools to participate• Budgeting the program using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets• Creating flyers and displays advertising the webinars• Writing project evaluation reports for the event sponsers

During the summer after high school, I had the chance to work as a receptionist at Occupational Heath and Safety Newfoundland. This summer job involved:• Assisting in the upkeep of Newfoundland's OHS registry• Performing data entry and upkeep of the workplace accident report database• Cataloguing physical records and creating record transfer lists for archived workplace incident reports• Receiving clients at reception. Although this job doesn't relate to computer engineering, I think It is an important part of my work history as it gave me great respect for Workplace Health and Safety and made me interested in entering into a Safety-Critical field.

Through WISE NL's Student Summer Employment Program (wisenl.ca/ssep) I had the opportunity to work as a student research assistant for, associate professor of computer engineering and computer science, Dr. Andrew Vardy. Dr. Vardy's research is in Swarm Robotics (bots.cs.mun.ca).In this role, I researched the applications of the Sphero robot in swarm robots. My research included:• Writing scripts to control the robot in JavaScript• Conducting experiments on the Sphero robot's ability to detect obstacles• Writing and presenting a research paper describing the applications of the Sphero robot in swarm robotics at the Newfoundland Electrical and Computer Engineering Conference (NECEC) 2016
