I am a cheerful and determined non-profit administrator dedicated to the arts and humanities. My background as a theatre artist makes me an effective, engaging communicator and a resourceful problem-solver. I balance my natural creativity with methodic organization, meaning I am capable of imagining the "big picture" and then taking the steps needed to bring an idea to reality.At the Daughters of the American Revolution, I am able to serve the organization's mission of promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism through my coordination of exciting internal events, fostering key stakeholder relationships, and encouraging cross-departmental collaboration on special projects that enhance our historic Washington DC headquarters.In addition to my full-time role, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Arts Administration at the University of Kentucky. I see my degree program as a laboratory where I can experiment with non-profit management strategies, and then apply my findings to my professional life. My skills as a non-profit professional are further sharpened through my volunteer work with the Junior League of Washington where I serve on the fundraising committee. Balancing a full-time job, part-time studies, and volunteer work has honed my organization and time management skills as well as reinforced my love of and commitment to my community. Outside of my professional, academic, and service commitments, I enjoy attending local theatre, visiting museums, getting lost in thrift and antique shops, eating raw cookie dough, combating homesickness by working through my Southern authors reading list (Latest Read: Dispatches from Pluto by Richard Grant), and spending time with loved ones.
