Advanced renal oncology nurse specialist.I started this role following maternity leave. I worked closely with the Urology Oncology consultants to ensure that patients were supported and had a point of contact once diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer. I supported patients through their clinic appointments, discussed the potential side effects of treatment available and also supported those patients who were unable to have any further treatment. I was also leading the caseload of patients who chose to have adjuvant treatment following their nephrectomies with curative intent. I liaised with members of the multi disciplinary team and also made community referrals to district nurses, palliative care etc. I supported patients making the decisions for preferred place of care and their preferences for end of life.

I worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in long term follow up for Childhood/TYA cancer survivors, focussing on the late effects for this group of patients. I was also the CNS Lead for Transition for 18-25 year olds within this service.

Working in a variety of areas including: oncology, haematology, fertility, thoracic, general surgery, neonates and urology.

I worked as a staff nurse on an oncology and haematology teenage and young adult cancer ward. Working well within a small team to provide the best care possible for our young patients. Medicine, IV and chemotherapy competent. Able to administer blood transfusions and venepuncture competent.Experience looking after oncology and haematology patients including haemophilia and sickle cell. Taking charge of the shift regularly as a senior band 5, co-ordinating the ward.Also having six months experience working within the neonatal unit, particularly special care. Caring for premature babies and supporting their families through a distressing time.
