As Diabetes Educator with UofL Health I have the opportunity to provide individual nutrition education and facilitate DSMES classes for patients with diabetes. I also provide Medical Nutrition Therapy in the outpatient setting both in-person and via telehealth. Working with patients to provide nutrition education, whether individually or in a group setting, is what I love most about being a Dietitian! As WIC Director at Park DuValle Community Health Center I had the opportunity to provide nutrition counseling, medical nutrition therapy, and breastfeeding education and support to WIC participants. Previously, I was a Registered Dietitian for the YMCA of Greater Louisville Downtown Family Branch from February 2014- January 2017. Here I conducted nutrition consultations to assist members in meeting nutrition and wellness goals. I provided education and counseling for weight management and sports performance and provided custom meal plans. I developed materials for YMCA wellness programs and facilitated a weekly Weight Loss Challenge class. I graduated with Honors, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky in August 2012 with a B.S. in Dietetics after completing my ACEND accredited internship through the University of Kentucky NFS Coordinated Program. During my internship I gained valuable experience in Medical Nutrition, Community Nutrition, and Food Service Systems Management.I am currently a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian in the state of Kentucky. In 2014, I obtained my Certified Lactation Counselor certification.
