Passionate, attentive, organized.As a student at Miami University majoring in finance and minoring in accounting, I am proud to say I have developed and integrated these three skills into my everyday life. Beginning with the opportunity to shadow business professionals at Wilmington Trust during my senior year of high school, I began to develop an understanding of what I wanted to do after graduation. I enjoyed analyzing market trends and liaising with wealth advisors and their clients. Here I learned I was passionate about the business world.My course work the following semester aided me in determining where I wanted to focus my efforts. Consisting of four courses that aid in developing overall business skills, the FYIC challenges students to formulate a solution for a fuel company by the end of the semester. My team and I created an ESG-focused solution to aid our company in not only surviving but thriving as well, as the world aims to reach net zero by 2050. The exposure to data analysis of sale trends, issuing of debt and equity, and solving complex problems with critical thinking led me to pursue a finance path. Along with this, I learned how applicable my skills of organization and attention to detail were in this field.I returned to Wilmington Trust after my Freshman year of college to pursue more of a financial role. I worked closely with wealth management professionals and investment advisors to analyze market trends and apply data gathered to investment strategies. The prevalence of interest rates and their effect on clients allowed me to apply the knowledge gained from classes I was so passionate about. I expanded my network further and connected with professionals who have greatly impacted my future through their advice and expertise.My relevant studies this semester have continued to develop my financial skills among others. Courses such as economics, advanced business writing, data analytics, and my involvement in the student organization, Women in Finance, have prepared me for any path I may encounter. I enjoy furthering my skills and am open to opportunities to do so!
