Studying the reactivation of human acetylcholinesterase after being inhibited by organophosphorous pesticides and nerve agents in the lab of Dr. Christopher Hadad. In this experience, I performed reactivation screenings of a variety of organic compounds to test for their ability to reactivate acetylcholinesterase.

Studying plant geminiviruses in the lab of Dr. Jose Ascencio-Ibáñez. In this experience, I infected the plant of interest with the virus and observed how the virus affects the growth of the organism when compared with a healthy organism. I also extracted DNA from the infected organisms and gained experience using PCR and gel electrophoresis.
