Analyst/Planner
Reporting to the Director as my line manager, I have built and developed the planning department within a wholesale company from scratch. Focusing on providing budgets and forecasts for the entire business, planning stock levels and maintaining key best seller availability within the warehouse. Also regularly report on sales performance and projections to update directors and the owners of the company on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. Work independently within planning, but I work closely with all other departments to achieve targets and deadlines. I organise and manage weekly planning meetings within the company, to ensure the entire critical path is followed and maintained. This meeting is with all heads of depts. to ensure stock is booked and delivered within our warehouse (and/or for a customer) on time and to capacity plans. Worked full time through Covid (WFH in lockdowns) as I used my transferrable skills to ensure I still supported the business even when it was tough to plan through the pandemic. In the first lockdown I focused on reporting and strategising with directors to ensure the business kept moving. Updating the systems and putting contract and sales orders onto our database systems (Sage), I learnt the business truly from the ground up, which now makes me a key support to all other employees for training and advice.
Senior Allocator/Maa
Licensee and Menswear PlanningResponsible for running department weekly and ad hoc reports to best analyse trade figures, monitor bestselling styles and new product launches, then present findings to full lifestyle team in the weekly trade meetings. Worked closely with suppliers and the warehouse on a daily basis to ensure stock is delivered to stores on time, arrange stock contract changes, organise new season and product launches. Constantly worked closely and assist the Junior Merchandiser on weekly and monthly trade summaries, OTB/re-forecasting reporting and buy strategies. From this I'm was also presenting in the meetings to directors and responding to actions from them independently. As well I managed, updated and re-forecast the line cards and department ladders, then flag potential stock issues to the team and brand partners in order to reduce risk to sales. My department worked on buying and launching a new range of premium jewellery, which I was closely part of from product selection, brand ranging and customer profiling in order to create the strongest range for our customers. Responsible for training up new Allocators/MAA’s within the company, and supporting other teams/departments when needed. From this I have supported and worked on multiple departments within the company, from brand partners in licensee, to specialist menswear in 6 exclusive stores, and womenswear apparel – all within both full price and Outlet stores. This has exposed me to processes in both luxury retailing, but also high volume and fast turnover. I have also supported in full price shoes and accessories, which were both key growth areas within the business.
Allocator
Menswear - Formal Brands Maintaining and updated the delivery schedule and intake for the department, working closely with suppliers to ensure stock is delivered on time and in line with forecast. Create and maintain orders, product profiles and allocation plans to make sure the correct amount of products is in the right stores for maximum sales. I am responsible for weekly promotions going on the system, brand event promotions, clearance and recalls. I also undergo weekly store calls to help gain feedback for the department on the sales and product performances for each brand.
Team Member
This job is a seasonal position during university holidays. Within this position I am placed primarily within the childrenswear department and from working over the extremely busy ‘back to school’ period within the store and each week met or went above sales targets. It has strengthened my skills in being patient, productive, hard working, working under pressure, meeting targets, customer service, stock replenishment, organisation, teamwork, and working independently.
Showroom Assistant
Intern position within the womenswear showroom in London, assisting the sales team through the Autumn/Winter 2014 selling season. The role included merchandising the showroom, dressing and styling the models for each appointment with buyers, and general tidying.
Work Experience
The position was an assistant to the fashion floor manager and involved shop floor duties that included finance administration, stock replenishment, visual merchandising, and customer service. I assisted customers in finding their chosen merchandise. I worked well within the team in the store, but I was able to also work independently and demonstrated initiative in recognising necessary tasks, for example, replenishing inventory where stock was nearing minimum levels. I helped assist the establishment and promotion of the brand Biba when it first launched in store. I helped to organise clothes with labels and hangers ready for the shop floor, and assisted the brand manager on visual merchandising of the garments. On the launch day, I also assisted the brand manager in choosing garments from the collection to feature on models in a photo-shoot for a local newspaper article. The Brand Manager delegated authority to me when she was otherwise engaged; this involved customer advice/service.
