I am a first-year biology major at the University of North Texas in Denton. I am a certified pharmacy technician preparing for a career in the pharmacy field. I have been focused on pharmacology since high school and have been building my academic record and the basis of my knowledge with various related courses such as anatomy and physiology, advanced placement biology, pharmacology, and a pharmacy technician practicum class through the Keller Center of Advanced Learning. The practicum program allowed me to participate in a rotational externship in local Walgreens pharmacies, where I worked at a pharmacy during that class period once a week for four weeks, then switched to a new Walgreens location to do the same. This experience further established my knowledge of a pharmacy technician's role and allowed me to learn hands-on. I gained new skills and refined my skills, such as phone etiquette, customer service, cashiering, and pharmacology skills. After taking this course, I also earned my Pharmacy Technician Certification and passed my Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam in August 2023. I am looking for a job as a pharmacy technician, but I would also love to look into internship opportunities or just networking with people in my field.
