Raising awareness of resilience, response and disaster prevention initiatives; highlighting forgotten disasters and identifying overlooked or new hazards and solutions, including reputation management in a digital age.I launched Crisis Response Journal 15 years ago and work in print and online, specialising in consultancy, training, publishing, events and conferences. I am a director of Crisis Management Limited, parent company of the journal. 

I have chaired, spoken at, moderated, acted as rapporteur or curated and put programmes together for international events, including: Moderator at the 22nd OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum in Vienna, Austria, (2014); Panelist at UK launch of the Red Cross/Red Crescent World Disasters Report on Technology and Humanitarian Action (2013); Moderator at the United Nations Global Platform in Geneva, Switzerland (2013); Moderator at the UNISDR Heritage and Resilience event in Venice, Italy (2012); Rapporteur and Session Chair at the European Commission Civil Protection Forums, Brussels, Belgium.I chaired and curated sessions at IDER conferences (Rome, Italy; Brussels, Belgium); I launched and organised Floodfighters and National Risk events; I have chaired sessions at Counter-Terror Expo; I was Session Chair at the Royal United Services Institute; and I advised and took part in a civil protection event held at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office's Wilton Park.I have initiated and overseen the launches of specialist, academic and news-led publications in English and other languages; and was a founder member of City Security and Resilience Networks (CSARN). I have edited and published books within the emergency response, management and analysis sectors. Before CRJ I worked in publishing and conferences within the Fire and Rescue sector, reporting from around the world, including military operations in Bosnia and Kosovo, work in the settlements and squatter camps in South Africa and in Peru.
