Refractive TechnicianOptical Express Apr 2017 - Jul 2018Southampton, United KingdomThis role focussed massively on client journey from start to finish to ensure the client has a smooth experience. I met with my clients gathering information and finding the need for corrective surgery. I would invite and settle my client for the relevant scans on their eyes to find if they are suitable for a procedure. I will pass them on to the Ophthalmologist to find out which one they are most suitable for. The client was then handed back to myself to discuss their options along with prices. Once the client booked in for surgery I liase with my client via phone or email as often as necessary, whether it be to clear any balances on their account, identify and needs they have and answer any questions that may arise. -
Account Manager And Team LeaderNetbasic Ltd Oct 2013 - Apr 2017Portsmouth, Portsmouth, United KingdomI worked for the largest life insurance price comparison website in the UK. They were an insurance company specialising in health and life insurance. In this, the calls I would make were ‘warm calls’. The customers I contacted would have looked on our website, replied to an email or clicked on an advert on Google etc. I would find the most suitable insurer for my client from a panel of the UK’s top insurers, including Legal and General, Zurich and Aviva. Originally I was hired as an Insurance Specialist so I would ask the health and lifestyle questions and deliver the insurers decision to my customer, sell them the policy and put the customer ‘on risk’. I felt I needed a new challenge within the company so I became an Account Manager in February 2014. As an AM I would have anywhere from 20 - 50 leads to call and manage daily find a policy that best suited their needs whether it be for family or for mortgage purposes, I would then pass it through to the IS's to run through the application. In November 2014 I was promoted to team leader of 6 Insurance Specialists and give them any sales tips or training they may need, and manage sales figures. In this role I still made a small amount of calls but my main responsibilities were holding monthly one-to-one meetings to go through statistics for the previous month, and new monthly targets and how to achieve these. I frequently did ‘call listening’s’ with my team to give feedback etc. I motivated my team with small incentives and prizes such as Love to Shop vouchers. When new employees started with the company I put together "newbie folders" and talked them through the running of the business, client journey, the script, and the systems. I largely focussed on script training and sales tips leading to closing a sale. -
Senior Sales Advisor And Team LeaderEe Dec 2009 - Oct 2013I was employed at Orange and was fortunate enough to see the amalgamation and switch over to EE (Everything Everywhere Ltd) becoming the parent company of both Orange and T-Mobile. I dealt with direct face to face retail sales on a day to day basis. My roles included identifying and meeting customer needs, ensuring customer satisfaction, store management, external promotion and systems and process management whilst being responsible for maintaining high store standards, sales figures and motivating and also managing new staff. I was chosen to run Sunday’s on my own for around a year, so gathered my team in the morning meeting before opening hours to let my team know what KPI’s we needed to hit and what was expected of the team. I also had to do Sunday stock takes, cashing up and sending off any returns or faulty items we had in store. I gained many skills whilst working for EE, such as package selling and promoting the brand and current offers, internally as well as externally, I gained more sales skills to ensure the customer needs were satisfied and would leave the store with confidence that they have the best deal suited to them. EE is an extremely fast changing business, whether it was processes to follow or updated deals and plans or current models of phones, so I had to keep up to date with all of these it always kept you on your toes. I developed great sales techniques to ensure maximum sales and conversion, in line with personal targets as well as store and company targets. Whilst working for the UK’s largest mobile network operator, I credited myself with the ability to interact and build strong rapport with a variety of customers from all walks of life, and also having repeat customers returning to the store and asking for me personally by name to serve them. -
Utility Sales Advisor And Office AdministratorScottish Power Jan 2008 - Dec 2009South Coast Of EnglandAt Scottish Power I was heavily involved with face to face sales all over the south coast directly signing new customers up for gas and electric at the lower rates. After 18 months of hardcore sales I was promoted to Office Administrator. The main activities of this position were to send and receive communications by fax, e-mail, and in writing and by telephone and either answering them or fielding them appropriately. I completed ‘wrap sheets’ for a team of 150 sales advisors with details of the complete sale and also organising ‘knock sheets’ for all advisors. I often attended sales team meetings and briefings and on occasion had taken minutes of those meetings. I was responsible for ordering stationary, printing and uniforms for the sales team. I also had to file and archive records. I booked appointments and arranged interviews for job candidates. -
Trading Standards And Environmental Health OfficerPortsmouth City Council Jan 2007 - Jan 2008Portsmouth, United KingdomI worked for the Environmental Health Department of Portsmouth City Council as a Trading Standards and Environmental Health Officer. I was involved in many varying roles of both the Environmental Health Officer and also Trading Standards Officer. My main duties were to carry out site visits to inspect the standards of cleanliness and safety of various establishments such as pubs, hotels, restaurants, retail shops and on occasion, tattoo and piercing parlours. Upon completion of site visits I would generate a report based on my findings and depending on the outcome I would schedule a re-visit of the establishment for clients that needed improvements, or deem these as satisfactory and no further action required.
