Emily Jane Freed has worked in the non-profit and private sector throughout the Central Coast region. Her skill set is rooted in emergency management, supply chain and operations, and organic agriculture. In her current role as Supply Chain Director at Second Harvest Food Bank, she oversees the annual distribution of 10 million pounds of food through 100 partner agencies in Santa Cruz County. Additionally, Emily has served in various senior management positions in recent disasters, including the 2023 Atmospheric River storms, 2020 CZU Fire, and COVID-19 pandemic.Previously, Emily was Regional Production Manager at Jacobs Farm/del Cabo, a binational company and the largest U.S. grower of organic culinary herbs and edible flowers. At Jacobs Farm/del Cabo, she managed over 500 acres of organic production in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Mateo Counties.Emily recently graduated with a Master of Science in Emergency Services Administration from California State University Long Beach, with a research emphasis on disaster preparedness for farmworkers in Santa Cruz County.
