As a high school student, I discovered my love and passion for music. As a flute player, I was a member of every band group imaginable at my high school: Minnesota All-State Band, MSHSL All-Conference Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, Flute Choir, even Community Band. My success and passion can be widely accredited to the fantastic band directors who believed in me throughout and beyond my high school years.Unsurprisingly, I decided to major in music education. After a year of collegiate music education courses and lots of reflection, I realized that while music is a great passion of mine, it was not what I wanted my career to be. After researching other career options, I discovered the field of digital marketing. I was fascinated by all things digital marketing and decided I wanted to make that my career. So, I changed my major to marketing.Almost two years later, I found Valuegraphics, an amazing company that is determined to change the world by using values-based thinking in marketing, while discarding the use of harmful and outdated demographic stereotypes in marketing. I was recruited for the Digital Marketing Associate position at Valuegraphics in May 2021, and it has opened my eyes to a new way of thinking. Before discovering Valuegraphics, I had never thought to segment target audiences based on their core values, and I thought it was a brilliant idea. As a Digital Marketing Associate at Valuegraphics, I learned how to better lead others, connect people and companies, communicate effectively, write fruitful pitches, copy-edit articles, and most importantly, provide value in everything I do. I am looking forward to any new opportunities that will allow me to continue learning and growing as a person as well as in my career.
