Throughout my time at the Watson College of Education, I have accumulated 50+ hours of classroom observations. These observations have been a combination of in-person for partial days, full days in the classroom, and virtual observations of classrooms. I have experience in Kindergarten, first grade, and fifth-grade classrooms. These classrooms each had approximately 20-25 students in them.

While the current youth pastor was on maternity leave, I ran the youth group with guidance from the lead pastor. The youth group included students who had just graduated from fifth grade to students that had just graduated from high school. There are approximately 50 students in this youth group, but due to summer schedules, the number of students varied each week. This included, but is not limited to, leading virtual youth group every week, attending service projects, planning and executing a week-long local mission trip (approximately 25 youth participated), organizing covid-friendly socials, and building relationships. All of this occurred during the peak of the Covid-19 outbreak. This experience taught me how to foster an inclusive community, develop relationships, lesson plan, communicate appropriately with parents, and to be flexible under a tight schedule.

Over the years, I taught children ages 4-13 how to jump rope. I usually had a group of 5-10 children each week. Throughout this experience, I also had the opportunity to teach skills such as hard work, perseverance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and how to live out a healthy lifestyle.
