My second summer at Hollister Incorporated allowed me to build from my previous experience. I was involved in even more in-depth projects, expanded my CAD portfolio and increased my experience with PivotTables. Additionally, I worked on barrier mixing, DOE data analysis, mold development and molded parts, new product costing, lab work (such as use of a cryomicrotome), label creation and more. My knowledge of the medical device industry and breadth of engineering skills have greatly increased from this experience. I learned so much from the incredible people of Hollister.

At the library my responsibilities ranged from working the desk and assisting patrons to shelf reading to organizing events to bulletin board making and everything in between. As a residence hall library clerk, students are given a unique opportunity to run the library alone during shifts. The supervisors encourage desk clerks to treat the library as our own facility and take a leadership role.

Interning at Hollister Inc. was one of the most rewarding experiences of my engineering career. Not only was I surrounded by creative, intelligent people with years in the field, but I was challenged with my own projects and tasks. During my time at Hollister I applied CAD skills in design projects (from creating test structures to devices), analyzed injection molding procedures (on an Arburg and Husky injection molding machines), learned about the product development procedure, analyzed sterile packaging for flaws, wrote reports, tested parts (using, for example, tensile testing machines), did data analytics on a potential corporate opportunity, and so much more. During my internship, I learned how to use a variety of new software (such as SAP and SolidWorks), tools and technologies.

During my time at Charming Charlie, I worked to improve my customer service skills, apply creative thinking to display design and creation and work on time management to accomplish as much as possible during my shifts.

Through this experience, I learned a lot about customer relations and working with clients and coworkers. As a brand representative, I provided assistance to customers and answered questions. Additionally, I monitored floor activity and aided with redistribution of sales floor by restocking shelves and accounting for inventory. Commonly I was positioned at the sales desk working purchases and returns.
