Collections Coordinator
-developed an inventory plan and template to assess the artifact collection and archival holdings of a secondary school which was closing and moving staff and students to a new school -completed a complete collection inventory: *recorded physical information, photographs, locations, and contextual information for 1,987 inventory spreadsheet entries (representing more than 5000 objects) *improved temporary storage conditions as the collection was organized and processed *simultaneously compiled notes on an object's potential relevance to an online collection and/or physical collection at the new school-completed dispersal of select objects to local and provincial museums, archives & libraries-provided recommendations for the storage and display requirements of retained objects-contributed to the development of an online collection to share the school’s collection with teachers, students and the community: *assisted with designing a framework using the school’s library software *digitized relevant collection objects and documents (702 inventory spreadsheet entries digitized and represented by 13,000 digital files) *digitized the collection using photography, scanning, and file conversion, and named/sorted the files in preparation for upload -digitized and sourced images and content for physical exhibition panels at the new school
