At Speechmatics I worked directly below the Marketing Director which meant I had a lot of responsibility. Whilst at Speechmatics I got to oversee the rebrand of the company, which allowed me to have creative input into the new website, creating stash and collateral and helped to organise company events. The highlights of my internship were being able to have full creative control over creating a style guide for the company, helping to create their new website, and being able to create and implement a social media and blog strategy to help improve their current efforts to coincide with the rebrand. I was split between each time to allow me to develop new skills, as I was split between each team it meant that my roles would be different day to day. Online community team Whilst with the online community team I got invaluable experience with different software, such as Hootsuite, Gain, google analytics, Talk Walker and CRM. I was in charge or community management, generating and creating unique content for social media. EventsThe events team introduced me to Events force, CRM and Type form which I used daily to help plan and organise events. My duties would include researching venues for their annual conference, this included liaising with clients for information about the venue and other costs, as well as researching activities to take place during an event that would entertain guests. For each event, I put together a spreadsheet with a minimum attendance number to make sure the event would have enough ROI to go ahead. Content Working with the content team allowed me to gain experience using word press, I-stock and their internal image database. i created a spreadsheet with all the upcoming blogs and articles AAT were set to post to showcase any gaps as well as communicating with the online team to ensure they could promote what we were posting. Towards the end of my internship I was able to proof read and co-write blog posts, as well as having creative input towards the design of their annual magazine and corporate brochure. PRMy time with the public relations team taught me the importance of an organisations credibility through the media/press. I would Identify any coverage or mentions of AAT in publications or online and put information into a spreadsheet to track the amount of coverage they were receiving and from what platforms, allowing them to comprise a strategy to strengthen the weak channels.
