MEDA is an international economic development organization that has been creating business solutions to poverty that are sustainable, scalable, measureable and replicable. Our work is focused on agri-food systems within the Global South.

The Provecho Project is about bringing people together by sharing meals and sharing stories; we believe eating together is the quintessential human tradition. Our model works similar to Airbnb: people host homecooked meals in their homes to build community and earn an income.We advocate for more sustainable eating by providing resources, educational materials, and opportunities to show earth-friendly cooking to communities (e.g. sustainable cooking competitions).

I supported Miki with executive assistant duties in her businesses and acted as her speaking agent. I booked/accompanied her on tour in the Middle East, Africa, Canada, and Australia.(Thinx is period-proof underwear that eliminates the waste of feminine products and also providing resources to young girls in locations where periods are taboo and there is little access to pads or tampons)(Tushy a bidet brand that is revolutionizing the toilet industry by reducing the environmental impact of toilet paper. They also work with Samagra to provide clean community toilets in India.

I researched the Fordham sustainability ecosystem and developed a systems map for administration. I also created a plan for a Fordham based Sustainable Living Community emphasizing co-living with ecologically and socially mindful practices.I analyzed how the food entrepreneur-investor network operates & identified gaps. After conducting interviews with eight entrepreneurs and three investors, we created a local impact rating system to ensure meaningful impact.

I collaborated with engineering & design teams of tech startups in F3’s investment portfolio and captured insights about what businesses are successfully tapping into the university market

Women Who Venture is a platform to share and celebrate the stories of female entrepreneurs who have innovated, disrupted industries, and overcame barriers that women in entrepreneurship face. My hope is that these stories of remarkable female entrepreneurs will challenge the stereotypical image of what an entrepreneur should look like, bring to light extraordinary female role models for any aspiring entrepreneurs, inspire more women to explore entrepreneurship, and create a community in which everyone can celebrate the phenomenal accomplishments of these women.

I created social media content based on research on renewable energy initiatives in New York and communicated with NY based organizations on how to advance their environmental missions

As a part of this team creating a co-working space, my responsibilities included planning and executing community events and implementing other growth initiatives. For their new socially-conscious coffee shop I pitched thirteen sustainability initiatives and for a meetup group called Kick-Ass Female Entrepreneurs of Lancaster I was able to collaborate with women entrepreneurs on a variety of different projects.

Living in Lancaster, PA, I noticed that while french macarons were gaining popularity throughout the rest of the U.S. and beyond, there were still no available options for them in the surrounding area. I saw the market opportunity, developed a desirable product, and created a business. I made over 2,000 unique painted French macarons and macaron ice-cream sandwiches, and sold them directly to customers as well as catered events. I managed marketing, financial, and production operations, as well as developed and implemented growth opportunities by building a strong customer base through positive customer relations.

Revolution is a socially and environmentally conscious jewelry startup that exists to empower women experiencing the crisis of homelessness. My internship at Revolution gave me hands-on experience building a business from the ground up. When I joined the team, all it consisted of was a group of women with an innovative idea. This gave me the ability to conduct my own initiatives, one of which was launching a crowdfunding campaign that raised over $10,000, double our original goal. I also created and managed social media accounts by building a following of over 700 followers on Facebook and 600 on Instagram. I used Facebook Insights to analyze the engagement of our target audience with our page, then experimented with strategies to increase that engagement. Furthermore, I contributed to marketing strategies by leading email marketing efforts. I also prepared the Revolution team to participate in a Shark Tank-like style business plan competition in which we placed as a finalist

As an intern for ASSETS, I found my passion for transforming communities through business. ASSETS’ vision is to increase business ownership among women and people of color and increase the number of social enterprises seeking to address social and/or environmental challenges through their business models. While working for ASSETS I worked collaboratively with other team members to plan a variety of community events, including The Great Social Enterprise Pitch, a community event that brought together social entrepreneurs who pitched business ideas to a panel of judges and an audience. Additionally, I worked directly with ASSETS' clients, local social entrepreneurs, by conducting a variety of general administrative tasks.
