A doula's role is geared to reduce your risks, increase your comfort, and provide you with physical, emotional and educational support. I use a variety of techniques to help your labor progress normally, reduce your pain and discomfort, and to help you make decisions about your care that reflect your values and needs. I encourage and assist you in having excellent communication with your care providers. Additionally, and unlike other caregivers during your birth, I'm with you continuously and focused only on you. I do not give medical advice, make clinical assessments or diagnose, or interfere in your relationship with your healthcare providers. I have experience with and specialize in caring for premature infants, multiples, trauma survivors and parents with postpartum depression. My approach is to support using non-judgmental evidence based information and care for families through these transitions. I strongly believe that all women should have access to compassionate support during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care. I'm committed to supporting all families who want a doula. Emily is committed to bringing these benefits of yoga to women and their babies with loving support, knowledge and experience on Thursday evenings. A mixture of styles influences her teaching: students will find a challenge in a strength-building vinyasa flow leading to restorative poses that bring a nurturing relaxation. Mothers will have the opportunity to tune into the sensations of their bodies and cultivate a relationship with their babies before they are born. Drawing on her experience as a doula, Emily will help mothers to prepare for their birthing experiences and to build community as they practice together. Beginners and experienced yoginis alike will find value in her practice.

Program Specialist for ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program) which is Washington's pre-kindergarten program that prepares 3- and 4-year-old children from low-income families for success in school and in life. The Washington State Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) in conjunction with Puget Sound Educational School District (PSESD) oversees the program.

The Program Specialist supports teachers in multiple capacities, in classroom's ranging from Toddlers to Pre-Kindergarten. This program includes NAEYC accreditation and requirements, implementing Skill Building education to teachers, assess readiness and ability in physical and social development, makes recommendations for classrooms, resources and activities. Uses deep expertise and knowledge of early childhood development, systems, and policies to provide technical support and training to teachers. Build strong, positive, strength-based relationships including multiple stakeholders to facilitate ongoing communication, collaborative planning, and shared problem solving. Build strong, positive relationships with parents and KLU. Research, develop, prepare and disseminate resources and products to advance theory, policy, and practice of early childhood systems work, with an emphasis on supporting and expanding access to high quality care.Delivering high-quality educational programs to teachers, develop and lead programs from implementation in classrooms to ongoing enhancements meant to exceed expectations.Ensure curriculum is presented as intended and that teachers can speak to the curriculum and what children are learning. Spending time in the center's classrooms, educating children and mentoring and modeling for teachers. Partnering with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children. Train, motivate and lead staff and assist center management with interviewing and hiring of teachers.

Uses deep expertise and knowledge of early childhood development, systems, and policies to provide technical support and training to teachers. Build strong, positive, strength-based relationships including multiple stakeholders to facilitate ongoing communication, collaborative planning, and shared problem solving. Build strong, positive relationships with Stanford and KLU. Develop and maintain expert level knowledge of the imbedding of infant/toddler high quality care as a central tenet of all early childhood existing systems and systems development efforts within Stanford community. Research, develop, prepare and disseminate resources and products to advance theory, policy, and practice of early childhood systems work, with an emphasis on supporting and expanding access to high quality infant/toddler care.

Inspired by the permanent collections and exhibitions on view, I taught summer art classes for ages 5 – 13. Children discover new places and diverse cultures through visits to the galleries and historic buildings, express their creativity, and produce original works of art.Classes of up to 15 children (grouped by age).
