As the Director of Information Management, I served as the main conservator of information for the Foundations Accounting & Investments Office (FAI) at NC State and the primary disseminator of training to those external to FAI. I was responsible for oversight of the accounting and information systems services provided to FAI and provided from FAI to external customers. In addition to accounting and information systems oversight, I supervised a team of five professional-level staff with widely varying job responsibilities, including but not limited to- Endowment Accountant, responsible for endowment unitization, spending budget calculations, reporting and administration;- One Compliance Specialist and one Business Systems Manager, responsible for ensuring NC State's accounting system served the needs of NC State's associated entities and the Endowment Fund, reviewing endowment and restricted fund gift agreements for financial compliance, and other varying accounting and compliance tasks. The Compliance Specialist supervised a Systems Accountant, performing routine accounting services and fund setup activities; and a- Business Services Accountant whose responsibilities included preparing presentation materials for and attending Foundation and Endowment Fund board meetings and advising on corporate governance issues.Well-versed in fund accounting and endowment accounting policies as well as related laws and regulations (including UPMIFA). Thorough understanding of Roberts Rules of Order and other corporate governance guidelines to assist with meeting facilitation, bylaws revision and interpretation, resolution writing, and other corporate governance items for University-associated 501(c)(3) entities and the University Endowment Fund. Familiarity with university fiscal and development operations. Familiar with institutional investment practices as it relates to higher education endowment and operating cash investments.
