Dr. Emily L. Spratt is an arts and technology academic and consultant reimagining the use of images across fields and industries. Her current research focuses on the philosophical, ethical, and legal implications of AI-enhanced technologies for the analysis, generation, and curation of art and architecture, film, and digital images more broadly. Emily did her postdoctorate in the Data Science Institute at Columbia University on the intersection of art, historic preservation, computer vision science, and AI ethics. She earned her Ph.D. and an M.A. from Princeton University in Byzantine and Renaissance-Baroque art history and art theory. She also holds an M.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.A. from Cornell University. Based in New York City, Emily is faculty at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. In addition, she has been a member of several computer vision science labs and programs, and has international experience in both the art market and not-for-profit sectors. As a strategic advisor proficient in several languages, she has collaborated with a variety of international companies, institutions, and governments on projects related to computer vision technologies, and art and technology at large.
