The California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program provides cash assistance, employment services and supportive services to needy families as they work their way toward self-sufficiency. As a CalWORKs Engagement Bureau AGPA, duties include independent provision of complex policy instruction, program technical assistance, and program oversight of the CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work (WTW) program to assigned county welfare departments. Presently the subject matter expert (SME) for Expanded Subsidized Employment (ESE), Family Stabilization, and Family Reunification. Currently co-facilitator of the Reunification Subgroup for the joint CalWORKs/Child Welfare Services Workgroup (i.e., Linkages 2.0) which includes CDSS, Counties, CWDA and CFPIC. Certified as a designated accessibility representative (DAR) for the Engagement Bureau so as to ensure public, internal, or any other work product developed within the bureau comply with AB 434 accessibility standards. This task required participation in a department-wide ongoing effort to remediate all public facing programmatic documents and information. With my leadership, this effort for the Engagement Bureau was completed in-full and on-time. Conduct periodic analysis of various senate and assembly bills as assigned during the legislative season. Previous SME for the WIOA, mental health/substance abuse (MH/SA), as well as domestic abuse (DA). Created the CalWORKs Welfare-To-Work Domestic Abuse Resources Guide to share resources with counties and DA victims during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
