I lead a squad of 8 engineers to develop the multi-cloud Model Development Lifecycle (MDLC) spanning GCP and AWS. I partner with directors, managers, and fellow Staff Engineers across the AI/ML Platforms team to serve our Data Science and AI customers across the company. I am part of a small team on the Watson Data Platform working with the IBM Spark Technology Center on improvements to core components in Apache Spark and applications in the Spark ecosystem.My primary project has been working on SparkTC/spark-bench. Spark-Bench is an open source project for benchmarking Apache Spark originated by a group from IBM research. I have rewritten the project and restructured it from a series of independent, Maven-built Spark applications chained together by a series of bash scripts, to a centralized Scala application with a single config file. Users can chain together independent workloads with configurable parameters and structure their runs using three levels of parallelism. This allows users to do traditional benchmarking and complex simualtions of different cluster use cases. I am giving a presentation on spark-bench at the upcoming Spark Summit EU 2017.

As part of the Analytics Platform team, I build tools to process absurdly large amounts of data in a distributed context.Tech stack includes Spark, Scala, Streams, AWS, and much more.
