Emily Taylor, M.A. Email and Phone Number
Hello! I’m Emily (she/her). As a Sr. Communications Consultant at Lumen, I develop and execute effective social media strategies for a Fortune-200, B2B technology company. I have years of experience in B2C, B2B, freelance, and corporate social media. My creative background and experience in digital marketing has afforded me opportunities across the tech, real estate, and interior design industries. I’m passionate about creating engaging, digital stories that resonate with people and helping brands find their authentic voice. Upon completing my master's degree in communication and media studies from Virginia Tech, I defended my thesis on the power of polarizing frames to make or break consumer loyalty in advertising; this research, and its intersection with corporate social responsibility, helped shape my passion for inclusive and authentic media campaigns. Along with my passion for storytelling, I have years of experience in DSLR photography, videography, Adobe's Creative Suite, news writing and editing, SEO, and paid media advertising. Additionally, I enjoy teaching and mentoring, having taught courses in visual media and public speaking at Virginia Tech's School of Communication. In my spare time, I enjoy connecting with members of the specialty coffee community as a member of the SCA, as well as practicing yoga as a certified instructor. These spaces help feed my values of community and wellness. If you'd like to stay in touch or chat more about your media goals, let’s connect!
