About Emily Ray
Emily Ray is the owner of Western Magnolia Design which originated in Asheville, NC in 2005 and is now located in Boise, ID.Emily grew up on a farm in Tunica, MS. She went to high school and college in VA and received a BA in Journalism and English from Washington and Lee University. After graduation, her love of skiing led her to Telluride, CO . What followed was 10 years of traveling, skiing, kayaking and raft guiding, with Idaho being the main point of return in the summers. Here, she returned to school and received a BFA in Graphic Design from Boise State University.Emily has been in the design field for many years, most of those spent freelancing, which gives her the ability to spend quality time with her active 15 year old son Wiley and their 2 black labs Scooby Doo and Riggins. Emily has done substantial design work in the outdoor industry as that is where her passion lies, along with animals and folk art, but she loves to take on the challenge any client brings her, no matter the subject content. Emily has done work for clients that hail from Hood River, OR all the way to Memphis, TN. Emily's favorite part of the design process is conceptualization and choosing color palettes.
