Business Support Lead For Integrated Children'S Services Sar Team
CurrentIn early 2023, the Business Support Lead for the Integrated Children's Services SAR team became available and I felt it was time to make the move to county-wide services, as this role would let me expand on my professional interests in information rights / GDPR and bring my children's social service knowledge with me. I manage a small business support team, and together we work as the 'middle-man' between KCC's Data Protection team and all of children's services in Kent. We interpret information requests; gather information from our various case management systems; and liaise with Records Management for archive files, all before notifying one of the 75+ teams that make up KCC's Integrated Children's Service. We then provide support around the individual information request, giving advice and quality assurance where necessary, before returning to our Data Protection team for disclosure to data subjects. As part of my role, I am: constantly reviewing our processes to make it less arduous for the teams completing the requests; training my colleagues around information requests; and being an advocate for our service users who want their information. To support my on-going quest to learn as much as I can about DPIG, I'm also in the midst of a Level 4 Data Protection and Information Governance apprenticeship with Damar Training, to support me professionally in the future.
