Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF) is a renowned fellowship program that pairs mid-to-senior-level entrepreneurs, executives, and technologists of all kinds with top civil servants and change-makers working within the federal government to tackle some of our nation’s biggest challenges. Fellows are embedded within agencies as senior advisors and entrepreneurs in residence working on mission-critical problems, shaping smarter policy and/or advancing equitable technology for public good. With agency partners, fellows help to build a resilient government by co-creating stronger public services using data science, design, engineering, product, and systems thinking.

• Lead product and program management across all Data and Analytics products, including - Edify - Navigate data and analytics - Academic Performance Solutions - Rapid Insight• Manage technical writing and UX research function for Data and Analytics products

• Product leader on EAB's Edify product and Navigate data and analytics. Edify is a next-generation data warehouse and analytics hub that supports data democratization in higher education. The platform aggregates data from systems across campus and organizes it in a canonical higher ed data model to support integration and data governance.

• Lead development of dashboards and analytics tools for EAB's flagship student success SaaS product, Navigate, with a cross-functional team to enable higher ed leaders to make data-informed decisions to drive student success outcomes• Conduct regular discovery, from interviews to wireframing, and leverage qualitative and quantitative data to drive iterative solutions based on real user needs• Prioritize business and client needs to create tools with a positive user experience that direct individuals to use student data ethically, create roadmaps to build a shared vision and plan for the product's direction and upcoming features• Manage a technical writer to ensure they are empowered to create clear, consistent documentation for release announcements, technical support, and more, including the team’s style guide and inclusive language documentation

• Worked cross-functionally on product operations with PMs, UX, and developers on process improvement, design and planning of features and dashboards, and rollout strategy of dashboards for our flagship student success technology tools• Recommend and implement knowledge management infrastructure through Confluence, Box, and other resources, write software documentation and store release and product info in Zendesk and Pendo• Project manager of process improvements to scale the work of the technology delivery team and our member universities to drive return on investment and return on education

• Created a unified impact analysis process in Excel and SQL and trained the division to use it to quantify the impact of student success interventions through our products, leading to a 437% increase in reported ROI ($22 million+) in 2018 (more than every previous year combined) • JIRA administrator for the technology team: built workflows, updated processes, and led all JIRA trainings for new hires. • Serve as the project manager and senior point of contact with Presidents, Provosts, Enrollment Managers, and Student Support/Affairs teams utilizing EAB's Student Success technology platforms; conducted student success consulting, predictive risk model development, student data analyses, and technology implementation• Provide consulting and analysis services including organizational change management, communication and project planning, and student data tracking and analysis to uncover return-on-investment through persistence, retention, and graduation rate increases• Develop milestones and design critical success indicators for academic programs to identify if students are off-track to graduate, and to assist institutions in closing equity gaps and removing barriers for students of color and other marginalized groups• Co-founded Out @ Advisory - the LGBTQ Employee Resource Group at the Advisory Board Company, leading to changes in policy that allowed the company to win the HRC Best Places to Work honor two years in a row. Launched a pro bono project for Whitman Walker Health, organized multiple community impact events benefiting the local LGBTQ community

• Oversaw a study examining the impact of poverty on cognition and time preferences among rural sugarcane farmers in southern India for professors at Warwick and Harvard in collaboration with ideas42 and the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR)• Designed survey questionnaires, conducted qualitative research, ran pilot exercises, refined study design and survey instruments; conducted randomization, data cleaning, back-checking, and analysis• Trained and managed 14 field staff, scheduled field activities, and obtained research permissions from government officials and stakeholders• Wrote reports, policy memos, and applications to Institutional Review Boards (IRB) at sponsoring universities

• Composed over 30 research reports on higher education topics including student and academic affairs, budget models, and advancement. Synthesized qualitative and quantitative data into infographical reports• Solicited, scheduled, and conducted over 90 qualitative research interviews with university administrators, faculty, and other industry experts to profile best practices; compiled and wrote extensive literature reviews • Managed five to eight projects simultaneously across multiple clients and different research memberships• Used the Burning Glass Labor/Insight tool to analyze labor market and employer demand trends to determine regional degree program viability and inform new academic program creation• Analyzed advancement data from leading universities and prepare reports for advancement leaders at top universities. • Created a crowd-funding strategy to bring fuel-efficient water pasteurizers to refugee camps in Ndola, Zambia; analyzed costs/benefits of fundraising methods, designed storyboards, and wrote press releases for the campaign• Researched grants to identify funding opportunities, wrote grant applications resulting in $25,000 in funding, liaised with major partners (e.g., a Haitian Senator) to raise awareness of InStove's work

• Planned community oriented summer events—from movies to lectures—to inform public about international economic issues and introduce them into the Action Center• Managed web-based news and event postings using HTML and Drupal, set up Facebook page and Twitter to connect with like-minded organizations and promote services to constituents• Prepared and assisted in creation of educational materials, lesson plans, and interactive learning activities focused on a wide variety of global topics, tailored to different grade levels• Tracked data related to payments, enrollment, and student demographics, analyzed data to identify trends and goals reached, and presented in reports to management team
