When I first set foot into the world of IT, I was a confused 17-year-old intern unsure of myself and my future. For the first time, I stepped into a professional role where I felt I could make an impact. I didn't know how, but I knew I wanted to.Over the following few years, I learned much more about myself than I ever imagined. I learned that I love learning anything I can about IT and other related fields, both formally and informally. While I was a student, I:1.) continued my internship at St. Charles2). taught myself a wealth of information on computer hardware3.) earned CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+4.) used TryHackMe and home labs to nurture my interest in cybersecurityIn my personal life, I realized much of my unhappiness stemmed from my inability to serve my community during the pandemic. I'm making up for lost time in my current analyst role by providing user education to people unfamiliar with computers and other technologies in addition to setting up/providing hardware and troubleshooting incidents.I love my job because it gives me an outlet as a young, dedicated IT professional to sate my passion for lifelong learning. Growth is priceless, and there are always new opportunities for learning when working in the field. I devote myself to my work and never feel stagnant as long as I'm actively learning.My newest pursuit is a Bachelor of Cybersecurity at Eastern Oregon University. I'm enrolled part-time at COCC to finalize some general education requirements before transferring.
