I lead the Library Environments department, a team of librarians and staff. We strive to improve the in-person library experience by making our buildings more functional, welcoming, and accessible. Our work applies to public, staff, and programmed (service) spaces. We do this work by applying our skills and expertise in data collection and analysis, user and participatory research methods, service and space design, and process and workflow analysis. I manage the department, including: - Direct a 3 FTE department to gather and report on data about ourbuilding, services, and collections to inform service and staffing changes.- Collaborate with colleagues, faculty, staff, and students to define andscope design requirements for renovations.- Execute research to inform service delivery and space designs that fosterwell-being, inclusivity, and accessibility.- Collaborate across departments and campus units to clearlycommunicate department and library goals.- Manage multiple projects within established timeframes to maximizeimpact.- Establish team priorities, maintain schedules, and monitor performance.including hiring, mentorship, and professional development planning forstaff and unionized librarians.

Responsibilities include: identifying and managing a panel of judges; coordinating the applications from libraries across North America; coordinating writers for the winning profiles; and writing up the lead articles and implementing the associated webinar for the series. Competition winners featured in the September 2015 issue of Library Journal.

I help develop the school’s entrepreneurial curriculum for the new Bachelor of Science in Information program. I work closely with the School of Information’s Career Development Office to create learning opportunities for students across the curriculum in entrepreneurship and innovation.

I conducted research about the motivating factors, support and mechanisms for community engagement in public libraries with Dr. Joan C. Durrance at the School of Information.

I completed a credit-based internship at the University of Michigan's International Institute where I assist the Vice-Provost for International Affairs and his Senior Assistant with project coordination and liaising with internal II centers and U-M departments and collaborators.
