Independent Consultant/Ux ResearcherIndependent Consultant Jan 2016 - PresentMy work focuses on using both quantitative and qualitative research methods to gain deeper insights about users across a variety of domains. I have 10+ years of experience conducting cognitive interviews, focus groups, usability testing, observations, and then translating those insights into deliverables such as training and education materials, technology recommendations, reports, insights videos, and presentations. I've conducted qualitative research within a variety of domains, including consumer research (hospitality, e-commerce, virtual reality), non-profit organizations, intelligence (HIG/FBI), nursing, social work, petrochemical operations, patient education, and government services (Social Security Administration, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, Air Force UAV operations).Re: usability testing, specifically - I have conducted usability interviews with 500+ participants, with over half of these interviews being conducted remotely. The majority of my experience has been using Zoom, Bluejeans and vMix.Most recently, I ran an agile UX research program for a virtual reality company in which I conducted 400+ usability tests across 4 years. These interviews took place both in-person and remotely, and involved uploading software prototypes into virtual reality headsets, streaming onto a video platform, and recording the video. I have also conducted usability testing on desktop, laptop, and mobile versions of websites for several other non-profit and e-commerce clients. These projects have involved collaboration with and presentation of findings and recommendations to diverse client teams, including product managers, designers, web developers and engineers.
