Student Learning Advisor & Attendance Learning Mentor
My responsibilities as an SLA included:- Supporting students in the classroom & dedicated Special Educational Need Centre - Scribing for students in exams - Reporting to the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator My responsibilities as an Attendance Learning Mentor included: - Logging students' attendance and keeping detailed notes on their progress- Regular meetings with students whose attendance fell under 80% - Incentivising and disciplining students when necessary - Keeping in contact with parents and building a positive relationship with them to ensure their child is supported - Leading a Breakfast Club for children in Years 7 and 8 to provide a safe, positive place to start the day- Reporting to the Assistant Head Teacher and other senior members of the Leadership TeamAdditional Responsibilities:- Supervising Internal Exclusion 3 evenings a week, ensuring students were kept on task and that they understood why discipline was necessary
