I was the lead Design Program Manager for an emerging product area. I was responsible for guiding process at the strategic level, ensuring design had a role in setting top-level product priorities. I partnered with design leadership to resource load balance across a 40-person design team, and ensure work was tracked, assigned, and delivered on time. I built and maintained positive relationships with our cross-functional partner teams, creating new tools to ensure smooth communication and transparency across a 300+ person organization. I established a new executive check-in process so VPs had insight into design workstreams and could provide feedback in the early stages.

Drove all aspects of the design process from concept to launch. Stepped in to fill gaps in project management, user research, and content strategy. Helped launch new clinical, genetic testing products focused on heart disease, cancer, and medication response. Balanced complex regulatory and engineering constraints while delivering high quality, reliable patient and provider experiences. Managed stakeholder relationships to bring teams into close alignment, especially at critical points in our launch processes. Helped hire, onboard, and mentor designers, and led workshops to envision product experiences as we expanded into new markets. Created our first design guidelines, championing consistency and accessibility.

Worked with software engineers, product managers, and designers to guide the visual language and user experience across Bitbucket. Simplified and modernized Bitbucket’s UI after conducting user research to better understand user pain-points. Developed a new navigation framework for Bitbucket in partnership with Atlassian Design Guidelines team. Contributed to the Atlassian Team Playbook, and drove adoption of plays across product & design teams. Created design rituals – virtual walls and "Get S*** Done Wednesdays" – that our design team adopted to alleviate challenges of asynchronous collaboration across three timezones. Coordinated "ShipIt" in San Francisco, specifically encouraging non-technical employees to participate in our global, quarterly hack-day.

I was responsible for the visual and UX design of Atlassian's core website, atlassian.com. I established new UI and visual design patterns, redesigned the main navigation of the website as part of a massive IA overhaul, and much more.

I'm also responsible for implementing and analyzing results of A/B tests, and facilitating design collaboration workshops.

As the lead designer of the Consumer Marketing team at Opower, I designed marketing content to encourage people to use less energy. I was responsible for supporting 70+ domestic and international utility clients. I designed a variety of print and web customized content in conjunction with our product teams, and also worked closely with the User Experience team to design new internal tools for improving processes.

The Louis Berger Group, Inc. is a consulting firm located in Washington, D.C. that provides engineering, architecture, economic development and environmental services to a multitude of clients, mostly including U.S., federal, state and local government agencies. During my nine-month internship, I had the opportunity to design and produce a variety of marketing materials in support of the Corporate Communications Department, including but not limited to: marketing slick sheets, brochures, proposal covers and supporting collateral. I also assisted in the production and launch of a new corporate website, company store and a brand refresh initiative.
