I work to conserve biodiversity and ecosystems by facilitating the prevention and management of invasive species at the Invasive Species Centre. I also advise on a variety of environmental issues and initiatives at the local level through my service on the Oshawa Environmental Advisory Committee. My education focused on ecology, evolutionary biology, and environmental policy, with work experience in natural heritage stewardship, wildlife monitoring, natural interpretation, public outreach, and customer service. I am a longtime birdwatcher and a graduate of Long Point Bird Observatory's Doug Tarry Young Ornithologists Workshop (2011). Since then I've completed undergraduate courses in avian biology and field ornithology, and continue to learn about birds in my spare time through Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Be a Better Birder online courses.
