RAMSEY HISTORIC CONSULTANTS, INC. (RHC), formed in 2014, is the successor firm to Granacki Historic Consultants, a comprehensive preservation planning firm founded and directed by Victoria Granacki and operating in Chicago from 2004 to 2014. Lara and Emily Ramsey, principals of Ramsey Historic Consultants, have over 25 years of combined experience providing a broad range of preservation planning services including architectural and historic resource surveys, National Register and landmark nominations, and Certificate of Rehabilitation applications for owners of historic properties seeking to qualify for tax benefits, specializing in state and federal historic rehabilitation tax credits and the State of Illinois Property Tax Assessment Freeze Program.EMILY RAMSEY is an expert in historic preservation tax incentive programs. Between 2008 and 2014, she served as Senior Associate for MacRostie Historic Advisors, where she prepared National Register nominations, local landmark designation reports, and applications for properties seeking historic rehabilitation tax incentives. She has prepared successful National Register nominations, landmark reports, and tax credit applications for a wide range of historic properties,including industrial loft buildings, post-war housing complexes, schools, apartment hotels, downtown office skyscrapers, hotels and military housing. As a consultant to MHA between 2014 and 2021, Emily served as the lead preservation advisor for numerous tax credit rehabilitation projects in Illinois and Wisconsin, including the Cook County Administration Building, the Old Chicago Main Post Office, Marshall Field Garden Apartments, and the Pullman Artspace Project.
