I am the lead Peer Research Consultant (PRC) for a program at the University of Minnesota that offers assistance to undergraduate students writing research papers. In addition to working one on one with students working on research projects and papers, I manage the PRC program and its members. My responsibilities include:-assisting students working on research projects and papers -creating reports for data/progress of the PRC program-designing outreach plans-working at events to inform new students about University libraries, learning and research opportunities-projects involving past, present, and future UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) research projects -various projects (editing open textbooks to remove copyright infringements, online study space inventories, etc.)-scheduling trainings, work hours, and meetings for other PRCs

As a student ambassador, I represent the college and the many opportunities that the University of Minnesota provides. It's the best of both worlds- I constantly gain new experiences and meet new people while sharing my success story and inspiring others every day. My responsibilities include:-weekly meetings to discuss recruitment strategy and prepare for/reflect on events-speaking at panels to prospective students and families-working at various college recruitment events: serving on panels, meeting with prospective students and families to answer questions-speaking with University of Minnesota alumni and staff at events-recruiting University faculty members for outreach events

For 2 years, I was a section leader for first year students at the University of Minnesota in the CLA (college of liberal arts) First Year Experience program. I worked with about 20 students over the course of an academic year. Responsibilities:-grading assignments and offering personalized feedback -mentorship of first year students: giving personal and academic advice, creating personalized plans for success, developing study routines, time management, etc.-meeting individually with each student throughout the semester -developing a personal relationship with students both in-person via online platforms As a part of my work, I also attended biweekly meetings and specified training sessions at least once a month on a variety of subjects, including mentoring, wellness, mental illness, and communication.
