Emily was asked to return to the Hangar Theatre to serve during the summer as the Audience Services Associate. In this position, Emily supervised a staff of eight and managed all front-of-house operations. This included serving as point-person for all patron experience-related issues and developing new strategies to improve the audience experience. Emily helped create flood protocol and new emergency procedures, efficiently implemented a back-up plan when the ticketing system crashed, and ensured that each patron had the best experience possible.

After founding her own voice studio, Emily taught predominantly college students. She created individualized lesson plans based on each student's goals and experience. Lessons included working on vocal technique, breath control, and expanding repertoire.

In this role, Emily led the organization and planning of the 2017 season local equity and non-equity auditions. This included creating character breakdowns, selecting and distributing audition materials, handling all scheduling, managing the casting email, and liaising with the New York City casting director.

Emily created a new electronic filing system for all casting files, prepared audition materials, greeted actors, filmed auditions, and participated in weekly artistic meetings led by Artistic Director Anna Shapiro.

Emily read and tracked scripts in preparation for 2016 season planning and coordinated local auditions and callback. In addition, Emily collaborated on the artistic planning of Acting Out on the Hangar Stage: Charades Challenge under the direction of Jen Waldman, Artistic Director and contributed to the planning and producing of Winter Wind Sings at 54 Below in New York City.

Emily assisted in managing the company management budget, planned and executed cast meet and greets throughout the season, generated original content for weekly company newsletters, and worked to create a hospitable environment for all visiting artists.

Emily wrote press releases, PSA’s, and created press packets for reviewers. She facilitated publicity photo shoots and arranged the shooting, editing, permissions, and distribution of publicity videos. In addition, she supervised the publicity assistant and delegated responsibilities as needed.

Greater Chicago Area

Emily tracked and analyzed the history of Northlight's social media presence throughout the previous 3 years and presented her findings and suggestions to the marketing team. She facilitated mailings, proofread copy, and archived press clipping, all in prep of the 40th season, and she attended and contributed to staff-wide meetings.

As Producer, Emily conceived the production idea and established sponsorships with local business to fund purchasing the rights, renting rehearsal and performance space, and paying the musicians. She created the production budget, managed the rehearsal schedule and operations, and oversaw all decisions regarding programs, ticketing, and publicity. As music director, she cast and music directed six performers and hired and collaborated with the orchestral conductor. The show was featured in the Ithaca Journal.
