I assist the race director of the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben. I help with tasks throughout the year including organizing the storage unit and revising documents from the previous year. During race weekend I help to solve problems and keep the race director on task to accomplish everything. Through this I have learned event management and planning, time.

As an intern, I observed, helped facilitate, and lead group fitness classes. I created my own workouts and taught them after receiving approval from the owner.

As part of the INShape program, I got paired with an IU staff member as well as a government employee and prepared a 9-week exercise prescription for them. We met twice a week to implement the plan.

As part of the Healthy IU Initiative, I was paired with an IU staff member in order to be their wellness coach. I met with them once a week for six weeks. We discussed ways to improve their health and I assisted them in creating and developing goals to steer them toward a healthier lifestyle.

As the resident staff administrator for a SpringHill day camp team, I was in charge of running Monday morning registration for anywhere between 100-375 campers (depending on the week and location). This included (but was not limited to):-Registration set-up and tear-down-Training registration volunteers-Answering questions / being the point-person for all.

I was paired with a child with disabilities through both gym and pool activities. I developed activity plans for my client on a weekly basis, for six weeks. I learned the importance of focusing on what abilities a client does have, instead of the abilities they do not have.

I facilitated daily, morning meetings with a small group of coworkers. I also helped lead large group times with all of that week's campers. I assisted summer leaders with activities and any camper behavior issues that arose in their cabins.

I was a counselor in a cabin that had a camper with a disability. My job was to make sure they were included in the group and be their buddy. The goal was to incorporate the camper with special needs in as many, if not all, activities that the group participated in.

I collaborated with a co-counselor to help 15+ campers have a great week of camp. I led two small groups throughout the day and facilitated activities throughout the day as well. I was responsible for keeping the campers safe, engaging them in camp activities, and ensuring that they had a fun time, too.
