My childhood dream was to be a playground builder. I spent my youth drawing rope ladders and slides with crayons, and building small shelters from sticks, cardboard, and plastic bottles in my backyard. These creative problem solving skills led me to a career in architecture, with the underlying goal of improving my local built environment in fun, beautiful, and efficient ways. I didn't realize until recently how much my outdoor play would influence my career path. While I started this path as an architect, I am a Wellness Entrepreneur. The word 'wellness' means the state of being in good health, and my professional experience has encapsulated and explored what this means, including:❤️ 10+ years of experience working as an architect: exploring how buildings and spaces can create health and happiness❤️ Experience designing sustainable landscapes and permaculture farms for healthy land and food, plus teaching holistic systems approaches to ecological design❤️ Teaching yoga and somatic movement to integrate physical, mental, and spiritual wellness in individuals❤️ Building healthy communities through projects such as pop-up garden education, founding a teacher-owned holistic multi-use space, and pursuing community-based creative projectsI am searching for new opportunities to utilize my scalable talents of design, education, and connection - on the scale of creating healthy spaces to the scale of helping individuals heal within. I believe we can all use more "playgrounds" - how can we create better health through design, movement, and play?
