About Emily Ferris

With over 20 years of experience in education, I am passionate about creating innovative and inclusive opportunities for students and educators to prepare for the future of work. As the LAUNCH Director at New Orleans Career Center, I lead a collaborative team that develops and implements a comprehensive model of career and technical education, dual enrollment, and work-based learning for high school students across the city. I leverage my skills in teaching, curriculum development, and educational technology to design and deliver engaging and rigorous programs that align with industry standards and student interests. Previously, I served as the Executive Director of the LAUNCH initiative at YouthForce NOLA, where I oversaw the strategic vision, partnerships, and operations of a citywide network of schools, employers, and community organizations that aimed to increase access and equity in career pathways for New Orleans youth. I also have extensive experience as a school leader, teacher, and curriculum coach, working with diverse and underserved populations in various settings.
