I would define myself as a lifetime educator with a passion for public education. My most recent role within the world of education has focused on collaborating with state-wide networks and leaders to develop personalized learning courses for teachers across Texas. Prior to this change, I spent five years as a Technology Design Coach at the district level. I worked alongside teachers, campuses, and leadership teams to build transformative blended and personalized learning environments fit for the unique needs and wants of each classroom. This involved extensive interactions with our district LMS (Canvas), a firm understanding of the power of in-depth coaching cycles, and a significant amount of time designing professional learning for adults. The heart of my work will always be the years within the classroom. When I was in the classroom, I created and founded the Hive Society--a thinktank classroom that inspired children to creatively explore literature through critical thinking and socially-relevant texts. The relationships I built with students have shaped my interactions with colleagues as well as shaped my philosophies surrounding best educational practices regardless of the room I’m standing in. Every decision can always be traced back to student success and well-being.
