This job combines three of my favorite activities: hiking with dogs, taking photographs, and writing. On top of that, I regularly get to take shelter dogs on much-needed outings. Adoptable dogs get not only a break from their kennels, but they also get write-ups and photographs that help them get adopted.

Worked with authors to ensure submitted course materials met company standards in format and quality. Coordinated daily with multiple authors (answered questions, provided feedback, kept them on schedule). Oversaw distribution of movies to a team of editors. Managed projects with a combination of Basecamp, Asana, and Google Apps (including logging author and editor content to keep courses on track so that production deadlines were always met). Proofed all written course materials (outlines, author biographies, course descriptions).

Charlottesville, Virginia Area

Received and logged new manuscripts (converted documents for the editorial department and prepared art for the Art Production Manager). Applied for, obtained, and distributed CIP data from the Library of Congress. Acted as a point of contact for publishing companies. Managed multiple projects (required sound knowledge about each project so that vital information was at hand when necessary, allowing other departments to run as smoothly as possible).

Winchester, Va

Wrote product descriptions for the company web site and packaging. Recruited potential customers and assessed what programs would be best for them based on company size and training needs. Assessed and solved problems ranging from payment issues to minor technical problems. Edited software training courses using QuickTime Pro. Coordinated and participated in national trade shows with the purpose of creating contacts and increasing company awareness.
