As a NICU Nurse Extern, I will practice and hone nursing skills; focus on assessment, critical thinking and communication. I will work with the preceptor RN on the physical care of patients, practicing of physical and psychosocial assessment, as well as my communication skills.

Performing basic and advanced validated clinical and non-clinical patient care activities as designated by supervising nurses across most hospital units being an integrative member of the float pool.

Gained psychiatric nursing experience through therapeutic communication, deescalation, and patient care at Syacmore Springs (Mental Health and Substance Abuse Units), the Indiana Veterans Hospital, The Villa, and the Youth Shelter.

Gaining clinical experience on IU Health Methodist Hospital's Surgical-Trauma floor. Shadowing nurses and their caseload. Aiding nurses in medication administration, care planning, vital signs, toileting, transferring, patient hygiene, and patient nutrition.

Gaining clinical experience by shadowing nurses working on IU Health North Hospital's mother-baby, NICU, labor and delivery, postpartum, and nursery units. Viewed a natural birth as well as a cesarean section.

As Vice President of Marketing I am excited to lead, direct, and facilitate regular meetings of the Marketing Department, in conjunction with the Marketing Advisor. I will develop a written strategic brand strategy, in collaboration with the Executive Council and Advisory Board. While I oversee the chapter’s social media, website, and merchandising efforts I simultaneously manage our communication plan, media pitching, and press releases.
