As a staff reporter at the Boston Globe, I write a weekly column called "Blotter Tales" and stories for the "Cold Case Files," a series and newsletter about unsolved crimes. I've appeared on Court TV, the Travel Channel, History Channel, Science Channel, BBC Radio, Beat the Press, Bloomberg Radio, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation, NESN, The Howie Carr Show, New England Cable News, and other media outlets. I'm the author of three nonfiction books, including BOSTON ORGANIZED CRIME (2012) and GANGLAND BOSTON (2017), and DROPKICK MURPHY: A LEGENDARY LIFE (2023). I've also appeared in several shows and documentaries, including the Netflix series HOW TO BECOME A MOB BOSS; the BLOODY BOSTON miniseries on the Reelz channel; and STRANGER THAN FICTION, a documentary film on the 2-disc DVD edition of the Oscar-winning movie THE DEPARTED. My work has been featured in The Boston Globe, International Herald Tribune, Outside Magazine, Yankee Magazine, Editor & Publisher, Quill Magazine, and The Howard Stern Show.
