Delivering food and refilling any beverages; also providing any items needed such as extra plates or napkins. Checking back in 2 minutes to ensure guest satisfaction. Offering desserts or after dinner drinks. Settling checks with cash, credit, and gift cards. Thank guest and let them know it was a pleasure serving them. At the end of shift,side work was completed and silverware was rolled, but cleanliness was always crucial throughout the shift, as well as keeping server stations stocked and clean.

The South Water Kitchen is located inside of the Hotel Monaco; a 4 star hotel in downtown Chicago. I worked in the wine bar; where we also offered quite an extensive menu of specialty drinks. I was responsible for greeting guests and also carding them to ensure they were of legal age to drink alcohol. My wine knowledge was required to be extensive and I also knew how to make all of the drinks. We offered a small tapas menu where I took orders of fine cheeses, jams, and nuts. All orders were processed through the POS system and checks were settled using cash, credit, and gift cards. Guests were always warmly welcomed back and I had many regulars. I maintained my section by keeping it clean and stocked and did my side-work upon closing.
