Deputy EditorHaymarket Media Group Apr 2015 - Jul 2016Twickenham, London, GbAs Deputy Editor I have been primarily responsible for getting the magazine edition of Campaign Asia-Pacific to print. Beyond the demands of magazine production, I am also involved in ideating the magazine's top features, developing the idea with research, building contacts, creating clear briefs so writers assigned produce articles of the highest calibre. Furthermore, these features are no longer created just for print. I work with the Campaign team to help structure them to appear as online reports and to develop video stories that interact with, add to and help these stories truly live online. We have also started creating content aimed at seeding these reports across social-media to amplify our reach. I frequently write, or contribute to, the cover story of these top reports. This is a task I have managed smoothly and efficiently through several senior editorial changes. Currently, I report to the Head of Content who works across both Campaign Asia-Pacific and PRWeek Asia who leads content direction across our two marketing and communications-focused titles. -

Reporter For Campaign AsiaHaymarket Media Group May 2011 - Dec 2012Twickenham, London, GbI was a regional online reporter, specialising in digital marketing and advertising technology, across the Asia-Pacific advertising and marketing industry. Soon after I joined, I was made responsible for the weekly Digital Bulletin which went out to 40,000 subscribers every Thursday evening. I was also sent me to cover the Cannes Lions 2012 International Festival of Creativity for online and magazine. The first reporter Campaign has sent from Asia-Pacific. While there, I spotted an opportunity for the global offices of Campaign to pool resources and create a scope and depth of content unrivalled by competitors. Since then, Campaign Asia-Pacific has sent reporters to cover the event each year, coordinating with the UK, US, India and Turkey to create a body of both local content, hosted on each site, and the global Campaign@Cannes blog. My performance in this role led to Haymarket Media Asia-Pacific recognising my contributions with an internal Best Newcomer Award. -
WriterThe Edge Communications Sdn Bhd 2008 - Apr 2011Petaling Jaya, Selangor, MyI first joined as a financial journalist and worked the Malaysian financial and business news beat. However I was soon moved to Business Journalism, where they sorely needed writers, and assigned to write about the country's advertising, marketing and media industry. Within a month I was recruited into a team of three writers for the monthly Management@Work pullout specialising in high-profile CEO interviews and exploring issues and thought leadership in management and HR. I was also one of only three writers working on an annual special project - Malaysia's Most Valuable Brands pullout. This project, which was added to the demands of regular work, entailed writing 30 full-page interviews with the most senior executives in Malaysia's most prominent, publicly listed brands which included Public Bank, Maybank, YTL, Malaysia Airlines and Parksons. Towards the end of my tenure with The Edge our team was reduced to just two writers (including myself) and, for a prolonged time, it was just me. With our editor promoted to Editor-In-Chief of The Edge, I gradually took on the responsibility of writing for, editorially coordinating and producing a daily page on advertising and marketing and management as well as the 16-page weekly Management@Work Pullout. -
JournalistSun Media Corporation Sdn Bhd Jun 2005 - Jun 2006Fresh out of university, I worked with the general news desk covering politics, business and, occasionally, crime for the national, daily English newspaper.Within three months I was asked to help create, launch, write and editorially manage youth-oriented monthly pullout, the U! I also wrote for the features desk, the media and marketing desk and was a frequent contributor to the Gadgets, Beauty, and Entertainment sections of the daily newspaper. I left this role when I received a full scholarship to pursue an Erasmus Mundus Masters of Arts specialising in Financial Journalism.
