The Global Development and Population Program made grants to improve learning in the early years of primary school in 6 sub-saharan countries and India. Worked closely with the QEDC team members to map, shape and maintain communications with key partners such as UNICEF, UNESCO, ODI, Beyond 2015, Global Partnership for Education and others. Supported the coordination of staff, partner organization and consultant efforts, particularly those related to Post 2015 agenda and new arenas of work for QEDC.Shared Deeper Learning portfolio investment strategy with QEDC team to identify possible points of intersection in developing countries.

Founding principal of a public middle school in District 11 in the Bronx, committed to diversity and empowering students academically, socially and emotionally to consistently make wise choices. We started with 200 6th graders, and grew to 400 6th-8th students in three years. Led our staff to create and adopt our shared vision and mission.Created and facilitated professional development.Fostered a student-centered academic environment that supported the whole child through weekly advisories, student leadership opportunities, and an open door policy. Worked with teachers and coaches to develop and implement standards-based projects centered around topics of relevance and interest to adolescents. Participated in a highly selective, rigorous,15-month leadership training program. Worked alongside school leaders, teachers and students during the year at a neighborhood middle school in Brooklyn, while taking coursework toward administration certification, and ushering a new school proposal through the application process with the Department of Education.

Worked on a dynamic 8th grade team of teachers in a small public school on the Upper West Side. Collaborated daily with team members to discuss student progress and investment, mutual projects, and other grade level topics of importance. Served on the school leadership team.
