In this role I was responsible for developing and distributing content for Herald Sun/Leader online, building social media engagement and supporting community masthead editors. ▪ Grew Knox Leader Facebook page audience from 830 likes (March 2015) to more than 2500 (July 2015) through concerted organic engagement efforts and use of available analytics.▪ Wrote the article with the highest traffic ever to date for a local masthead, “Men feeling under siege after revelation man was wrongly accused on Facebook of being a creep” (May 8, 2015), which surpassed 200,000 clicks (plus more than 200,000 on network site news.com.au) over 48 hours, had 323 comments and accounted for 35 per cent of the weekly total website traffic that week. The story was followed up by news outlets around Australia and worldwide. ▪ Was one of a handful of journalists chosen from across Australia to contribute to News Corp Australia’s Anzac Live project (Team Alice Ross-King), a ground-breaking digital storytelling project where the stories of real people who lived through WWI were shared through Facebook in real-time. News Corp Australia group editorial director Campbell Reid said: “In 39 years of journalism I have never been more proud of any project”.
