A bold pathfinder committed to driving positive social change at a global level.I am an award-winning founding CEO with an early career background in medicine and research. Now, working as a social and systems change consultant. Key competencies:Strategic planning: Led strategic planning and delivery cycles at the institutional level during a decade as a founding CEO, at the national level as a convener on a Government taskforce and for cross sector advocacy and collaboration at the regional and global level.Risk Management: Led Irise International through the global pandemic and significant cuts to UK aid, successfully leading fundraising campaigns to plug immediate budget gaps, stabilize income and achieved growth and sustainable delivery throughout.Feminist Leadership: Building and coaching diverse international teams, I co-developed and introduced feminist leadership principles across the Irise group and co-led a ‘Shift the Power’ agenda enabling our East Africa counterpart to establish an independent board and diversify their income so that at least 50% is independently sourced.Areas of expertise:Research and evidence: An expert in how to use evidence to drive social change, I’ve led a randomized control trial, done systematic reviews, commissioned nationally representative surveys, collected powerful case studies and used them as part of national media campaigns, policy development and government influencing. Gender equality and rights: Worked as a doctor, specialized in global health and led some of the first global research and campaigning to recognize menstrual health as a neglected gender equality issue. I’ve spent time with community groups in Madagascar, Nepal, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Uganda and been a grassroots political campaigner in the UK.Advocacy and influencing: I’ve funded and led national and global high-level advocacy and influencing initiatives, involving multiple charities, government representatives, young activists, grassroots leaders and funders.
