I received my Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University and have been a professor at Seoul Women's University since 1995. I was the first in the metropolitan area to establish a Department of Information Security and have served as Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of Planning, Dean of Admissions, Head of the Education Innovation Unit, and Dean of the College of Future Industry Convergence. Since 1994, I have been advising and educating on computer crime investigations at the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office for over a decade. In the course of my digital ethics activities, I founded the Korean Internet Ethics Society and also served as its president. In 2018, I received the Geunjeong Medal of Honour for my contributions to developing Seoul PACT, the country's first ethical guidelines for artificial intelligence. Currently, I am the Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Policy Forum, the Head of the Digital Dysfunction Division of the Digital Inclusion Forum, and a government-designated expert for the OECD's Global Partnership on AI (GPAI). My representative publication is "AI Has No Conscience."
