I ensure Dalit voices are represented in relevant EU forums, such as the consultations ahead of human rights dialogues, parliamentary hearings, EU-NGO Human Rights Forum; and engage with EU officials, MEPs and parliamentary staff on different policies to ensure that the EU remains a strong international voice in addressing caste-based discrimination.

Advising clients and managing their projects towards a greater realisation of human rights, training organisations and networks; and representing human rights organisations in Brussels and beyond.Assignments include: - assisting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands with the promotion and selection process for the 2021 Tulip Award for Human Rights;- advising the Open Society Foundations on an EU advocacy strategy to respond to the current political crisis in Tunisia and strengthen the EU's response in defense of Tunisian democracy;-carrying out the final evaluation the final external evaluation of the FIACAT "Guaranteeing access to justice for prisoners awaiting trial in 6 prisons in R.Congo and Madagascar" project 2020-23,- helping Amnesty International and Open Society European Policy Institute manage a stakeholder consultation and draft a background paper on EU policy on closing space for civil society in Europe.

As Head of Brussels-based EU Office, my main responsibilities are to develop and implement advocacy & lobbying strategies towards the EU Institutions and Member States, both at capital level and in the field, on behalf of HRDs at risk - with the aim to lead to effective EU action in line with the EU Guidelines on HRDs. I also represent FLD at the EU level, and have the overall responsibility in managing the EU Office, including its human and financial resources.

Managed the Human Rights Subcommittee’s scrutiny of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights, and of democracy, human rights defenders, business & human rights, Russia, Central Asia, South Caucasus, Pakistan, and formerly Ukraine, Belarus.

Worked on Central Asia, South Caucasus, Children's Rights. Represented the Council Secretariat in the EU-Turkmenistan and EU-Georgia Human Rights Dialogue. Assisted the Presidency in concluding negotiations on policies and initiatives relating to human rights (ex: Council Conclusions on Child Labour).

Policy officer in charge of human rights and democracy in external relations for Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean. Ensured the mainstreaming of human rights in external relations of the EU in these geographical areas, such as ensuring development cooperation strategies included human rights and democracy concerns. Included a human rights dimension in the EU’s common foreign policy work, such as political dialogue with third countries; designed démarches or declarations on specific human rights violations or achievements; and incorporated human rights concerns in conflict prevention and resolution initiatives. Oversaw the human rights and democracy aspects of EU-African Union relations.

Technical advisor, Good Governance (governance, institution building, public administration reform, human rights and democratisation): ensured presence, content and coherence of governance strategies in annual action programmes for partner countries, and provided support to EC Delegations in programming and manage governance interventions, first in the Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia unit, then in the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries unit.

Identifying and developing donor-financed programmes and projects (examples: identification of a 17 million Euro programme in support of the Rule of Law, Justice and Democracy in the Republic of Congo- reconstructing the judicial infrastructure, support to the Supreme Court, Auditor General - training of magistrates and other actors (lawyers, barristers, clerks, police, NGOs), funding of civil society initiatives in the field of human rights and citizens’ access to justice, the publication and distribution of laws and jurisprudence. 3. Programme and project monitoring and evaluation, development of impact indicators, impact assessment (example: evaluation on EC’s approach, programmes, procedures, administrative set-up in the field of human rights, good governance and democracy across all geographical areas (ACP, MEDA, ALA, PHARE, TACIS; Evaluation of the French Programme of Support to Justice in Benin; evaluation of the impact of EC Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights-funded projects in Tunisia and Morocco)4. Worked on macro-economic support programmes for Lesotho, Comoros, Dominican Republic, Belize, Bahamas, Seychelles: design and management of budget support programmes, including the identification of technical modalities for improving public finance management and the fight against corruption; administrative reform, transparency, capacity building.

Prepared intermediate and final evaluation reports on local development projects in India and Africa concerning water and sanitation.
