Rouss design is a London based studio specialising in bespoke lighting, product design and high end interiors. I was working as an intern reporting directly to the creative director assisting in lighting design and product development. I also helped develop the marketing sector, designing literature and sourcing leads for the company. I had opportunities to meet directly with clients and experiential companies forming the liaison between the clients and the other designers.

A two week placement working on a project for a LED Lighting Specialist Company. I assisted the design department with problem solving and lighting connector development for track systems including taking apart and reassembling existing products. Although short I gained excellent experience on Creo (Pro-E) and illustrator in a high pressure environment.

I worked in a State Boarding School (Senior and Junior) as a qualified teacher specialising in Design & Technology teaching Product Design, I was also given the opportunity to establish Textiles as a new subject within the Design and technology department. The role was not only teaching but being responsible for maintaining and using machinery, developing practical skills, making products, managing workshop and classroom stock, administration, creating schemes of work, organising classes, planning for lessons and liaising with parents and staff.

I worked in the Specials Department, providing clients with alternative ideas and prototypes to the standard interior and exterior lighting products that were available. I used AutoCAD 2006 on 2D and 3D drawings to design new fixtures or parts for existing and bespoke products, such as; gobos, grills, wall fixtures, columns, LED alternatives and snoods. I organised and ordered special products to be manufactured, liaising with contractors and clients allowing me to be able to create quotes and technical support. I also aided the Retail Department in store lighting layouts using Relux during demanding periods.
